Drumcondra Community CCTV Meeting

The next meeting of the Drumcondra Community CCTV Action Group will take place on Thursday 18th January 2018 @ 8.30pm in The Skylon Hotel, Drumcondra.

In December 2017 Cllr Paul McAuliffe and Mary met with residents in the Skylon Hotel to discuss crime and anti-social behaviour in our area and to formulate a community response.

The meeting was well attended.  Residents shared both their concerns over increasing crime, burglaries and violent incidents in the area and their ideas to increase community safety.

As a founding member of a Community Policing Forum and Chair of the Dublin Central Joint Policing Committee 2009-2014 Mary welcomes the commitment at Superintendent level to tackle this issue from the available resources.  The reality however is it will be some time before the Garda resources in Drumcondra and Whitehall are restored to adequate levels following the closure of Whitehall Garda Station and Templemore Garda Training Centre by the previous government.

We agreed to have a follow-up meeting early in the new year and all residents are invited to attend in The Skylon Hotel, Drumcondra Road, Dublin 9 on Thursday 18th January 2018 at 8.30pm.

Dublin City Councillor Paul McAuliffe and Chair of the local Joint Policing Committee will attend and give his advice and support.

Complimentary tea and coffee will be provided by The Skylon Hotel and the meeting will end at 9.30pm.

Mary encourages residents to come along and work together to make ours a safer community.
