Mary grew-up in Dublin Central and was educated in Cabra and UCD where she graduated with a degree in Italian and German. She emigrated in the 1980s and worked in France, Germany, Italy and the USA in the hospitality, manufacturing, education and telecoms sectors. Mary returned to Dublin in 1998 in an international business and technology role. Mary is married to Sean and they have three children. Mary got involved in politics because she wanted to make a contribution to her community. Mary believes we need a fairer more equal society where everybody gets a chance to achieve their full potential and the most vulnerable are protected. Mary was first elected in 2004 and since then Mary has been a strong voice for Dubliners in the areas of housing, waste, water, taxes, employment, transport, crime and the anti-Dublin local property tax. As an elected public representative Mary has proven herself to to be honest, hardworking, determined and fair. Mary knows Dublin Central and understands and shares the pressures of the cost of living, housing, employment, childcare, eldercare, education, crime and emigration. Mary has a vision for a fairer, more sustainable and more socially equal society.
