Mary Fitzpatrick announces that her election posters will be taken down for the giro d’italia

Mary Fitzpatrick, Fianna Fáil candidate for Dublin in the European Elections has today announced that her election posters will be taken down on the Dublin route of the Giro d’Italia.

Cllr Mary Fitzpatrick said “On the 11th May Dublin will welcome fans and tourists from across the world to watch one of the world’s greatest cycling events. On this day we will be showcasing some of Dublin’s most beautiful scenery on the route including Malahide, Clontarf – all the way to Merrion Square to an international television audience. With this in mind it has been decided that I will commit to taking my election posters down for the day”.

Cllr Mary Fitzpatrick stated “While we will be in the midst of an election campaign we recognise that it is important to stand back and allow this opportunity to promote Dublin to an international audience. We would encourage all other candidates to follow suit and also commit to taking their posters down for the day on the 11th May to make the route poster-free”.
