Social Justice Public Meeting

Thanks to the large crowd who attended Mary’s Public Meeting to discuss Social Justice on May 10th which had Fianna Fáil Spokesperson on Social Protection Willie O’Dea TD as guest speaker.   It was a riveting debate that sparked a conversation most politicians tend to avoid.

Mary expressed strong concern over the large and ever increasing number of people in critical need of housing in Dublin Central.

Mary criticized the appalling level of State investment in social housing construction in Dublin Central and said the Government needs to stop unveiling plans and start building homes for people of all ages.

Fianna Fáil has a strong track record when it comes to building homes.  From Ballymun to Ballybough, Cabra to Crumlin, in much more difficult economic times, Fianna Fáil built homes.  Everyone needs a home to allow them participate to their full potential at school, college and work.

Willie O’Dea TD accepted that the current and previous Government are failing to provide people with homes and committed Fianna Fáil to significant investment in Housing in Dublin Central including the regeneration of O’Devaney and Dominick Street.

The meeting allowed everyone in attendance to express their concerns and every voice was heard.

Equality and Social Justice are at the centre of Fianna Fáils’ Republican values.
