Dublin Bus Connects

In December 2018 the NTA launched the public consultation phase of their core “Bus Corridor” project, which is part of their overall “Bus Connects” Dublin Bus re-design programme.

The NTA commenced public consultation on the Bus Corridors before releasing the outcome of the “Bus Connects” consultation because it says the Bus Corridor improvements are required regardless of any network redesign.

Mary made a submission to the NTA on behalf of residents and received this recent Project update.

The Core Bus Corridor project aims to deliver 230kms of dedicated bus lanes and 200kms of cycle tracks along 16 of the busiest corridors in Dublin.  The public consultation for the sixteen core bus corridors will take place on a phased basis and will run until May 2019.

The public consultation for the first four corridors has commenced and will end on 15th February 2019.

The NTA is inviting submissions and observations for Phase I routes: Clongriffin to City Centre; Swords to City Centre; Blanchardstown to City Centre and Lucan to City Centre.

A public consultation information event will be held for all four Phase I Corridors in The Gresham Hotel, Upper O’Connell Street on Thursday 17th January 2019, 2pm – 8pm.

As part of the public consultation the NTA intends establishing Community Forums.  Terms of Reference for the NTA Forums are available HERE.   Interested groups should contact cbc@busconnects.ie.  For more information on the Bus Connects project, public consultations etc.  please click HERE.

Mary will continue to work to achieve the most efficient, reliable and affordable public transport service for Dublin Central.

Please feel free to contact Mary if you wish her to raise any issues with the NTA.
