MetroLink

The National Transport Authority has released a revised proposal for a high capacity, high frequency, single bore 19km underground MetroLink rail tunnel from Swords to Charlmont.

Following Mary and others representations in support of Na Fianna, Scoil Chaitriona, Scoil Mobhi and Homefarm FC the NTA revised their plans and there will be no boring launch at the Na Fianna Clg, Schoil Chaitriona & Scoil Mobhi site.

There will be an underground Metro Stop on Mobhi Road beneath the Homefarm FC pitch.

There will be a major underground Metro Stop at Cross Guns with interchange to mainline rail services and a street level plaza with significant development potential.

The NTA took on board representations from Mary and others and their revised plans do not require the compulsory purchase of apartments in Dalcassian.

Mary welcomes the commitment from NTA to retain the existing park on Berkeley Road under which a Metro Stop will be built.

The underground Metro Stop on O’Connell Street Stop will be at the old Carlton site.
