O’Devaney Gardens

After more than ten years, on October 7th 2019, Dublin City Councillors will vote to accept or reject a proposal for the redevelopment of O’Devaney Gardens as detailed in the City Managers Proposal HERE.

Mary believes public land such as O’Devaney Gardens should be used to provide affordable public housing.

Unfortunately despite Government identifying O’Devaney Gardens as its “flagship development”, as part of its Rebuilding Ireland House Building Programme, Government will only provide funding for 30% of the potential homes on the site.

Dublin City Council was thus compelled to seek private funding to develop 70% of the 824 homes, creche, community center and public spaces.  You can read the proposal HERE.

Dublin City Council is holding an open day to provide information to the public on Wednesday October 2nd, 2019 from 4-8pm in the Aughrim Street Parish Centre, Prussia Street, Dublin 7.
