Domestic Waste Collection

The Lord Mayor of Dublin has agreed to my request, on behalf of the Fianna Fail group, for a Special Meeting of Dublin City Council to discuss and agree actions to prevent the Dublin City Manager from withdrawing Dublin City Council from the provision of Domestic Waste Collection Service on December 5, 2011.  Dublin City Council has provided domestic waste collection services for more than 140 years, it is a core competence of the local housing authority and an essential utility service.  I believe the majority of the Councillors are in favour of retaining the service or at least having Dublin City Council compete for the service.  The meeting will be held on Monday 17th October at 6.45pm in City Hall. Mary.
