Mary’s Weekly Update

Below you will find a brief update on Mary’s work over the last week:

  • Mary Attended meetings to put the finishing touches #HousingForAll and share the plan with Fianna Fáil PP and Housing committee
  • Launch of €20billion plan to build 300,000 homes, eradicated homelessness, tackle vacancy and build secure, affordable and environmentally sustainable communities in #HousignForAll
  • House building€4bn+ investment per year to 2030
  • House building300,000 homes
  • House building90,000 social homes
  • House building36,000 affordable homes
  • House building18,000 cost rental homes

  • Mary attended Mental Health Reform pre budget presentation. She has made representations to Minister for Health calling for a dedicated Director of Mental Health Services.

  • September is #RecoveryMonth and Mary was back for an in-person meeting of the Board of Management at the Loft in Cabra.  The team have put together a great schedule of activities for #Recovery month, for more click HERE
  • Mary Received update from DART+West that the closing date for submissions is extended by three weeks to September 29th 2021.  DART+West proposes to upgrade the Maynooth main rail line to an electric DART service.  Important changes along the line include elimination of manual level crossing and horse-riding stables at Ashtown.  It is really important we get more efficient public transport and retain important community facilities – have your say before Sept 29th HERE
  • Mary had another busy weekly clinic dealing with Constituent queries around passports, housing, crime & special needs supports for both children & adults.
  • Mary had a positive meeting with Youth Work Ireland to try and progress the delivery of a purpose built school for Gaelscoil Colaiste Mhuire on Dominick Street.  There is more engagement needed from Department of Education and Mary will be following-up with Minister for Education Norma Foley TD
  • Mary’s home was one of the more than 60,000 homes that received Leaving Cert Results – HUGE WELL DONE TO ALL who completed the Leaving Cert.
