Gaelscoil Choláiste Mhuire

Gaelscoil Choláiste Mhuire is waiting for over 20 years for a fit-for-purpose school building. Over the past 18 months, great progress had been made. Following Mary’s engagement with the school and with the Minister for Education, Norma Foley, a tender was ready to be awarded for Gaelscoil Choláiste Mhuire’s new premises.

It is deeply disappointing and frustrating for the whole school community that the Department of Public Expenditure has put the project indefinitely “on-hold”. The Department must immediately approve a tender for the construction of Gaelscoil Choláiste Mhuire’s new school on Dominick Street. The cost of delaying is having an enormous impact on the teachers, children and parents.

Mary is now calling on the Minister and the Department to confirm a date for the awarding of a tender for the construction Gaelscoil Choláiste Mhuire’s new premises.
