Blackhorse Avenue Roadworks

Further to my UPDATE yesterday, today I received the following response from Dublin City Council Road Maintenance Services:
Dear Cllr Fitzpatrick, Further to your enquiries concerning Blackhorse Avenue, please be advised that Road Maintenance Services is currently assembling a tender in order to appoint a contractor to carry out reconstruction works on Blackhorse Avenue in the vicinity of the Pheonix Park’s Cabra Gate. This work is currently planned as part of this year’s (2011) works’ programme.
In the meantime, temporary works are planned to be carried out on the road surface during this coming weekend, i.e., Saturday and Sunday, 12th and 13th February 2011, in order to improve the road surface.

If you require further information or clarification on this matter, I can be contacted at telephone 222 2556 .

We apologise for the delay in dealing with your enquiries.

Regards, John.

Subsequent to this message I enquired as to gate opening and closure times. I have been informed that the gate will close at 11pm this evening (Friday 11th) & re-open on Monday (14th) morning at 6.30am. There is a electronic VMS sign positioned in the park-side of the Cabra Gate informing motorists of this. The pedestrian gate will remain open throughout.

All the best, Mary.
