“Dear Minister,
Thanks to you and your staff for your ongoing engagement with the Dublin Fianna Fáil parliamentary party sub-committee on the important issue of apartments construction defects. We appreciate your proactive engagement since taking office.
From our engagement with individual apartment owners, the Construction Defects Alliance and the Apartment Owner’s Network we know and share their urgency. We were disappointed that Budget ’23 did not provide for these homeowners to make their homes safe.
We appreciate the work being done by your department to progress a solution however we are asking you to urgently secure from Government a fit for purpose remediation support scheme to include the following:

or completed essential safety works

Independent expert building safety advice to support owner occupiers to correctly
assess and complete construction safety works

Construction Industry levy to contribute to funding the redress scheme
