Dublin Central Post Offices

Mary is a strong supporter of the local Post Offices that serve the people of Dublin Central.  Mary has worked with and on behalf of Post Masters in Dublin Central to protect this important local service since they came under threat from the Fine Gael and Labour Government more than three years ago .

Mary welcomed the recommendations in the Bobby Kerry report of January 2017 designed to make changes that would put the post office network on a sustainable footing.  Unfortunately since January the Government has done very little to implement the recommendations and consequently Post Masters recently warned Mary that post offices in Dublin Central are once again at risk of closure.

Mary takes the threat to our post offices seriously and arranged for Post Masters to meet with Fianna Fáil spokesperson for Communications Timmy Dooley TD to address the issue.  Timmy Dooley TD re-iterated Fianna Fáil’s commitment to sustaining the Post Officesin Dublin Central.

Following the meeting at Leinster House Timmy Dooley TD agreed to tackle the Minister about the threat of closure hanging over the the Post Offices in Dublin Central  to outline what action he will take to ensure a continued local post office network to serve the communities of Dublin Central
