Free HRT

Free HRT has been introduced in Budget 2025!

Under these plans Government will fund the cost of HRT medication being available to those who need it. This is great news for hundreds of thousands of women across Ireland. Up to now HRT has only been provided by the State for those who have a medical card.

A standard prescription typically costs between €30 and €70 a month with many women stopping treatment because they can’t afford the cost.

Mary has previously called on the Minister to extend free HRT treatment to ALL women. Read Mary’s commencement matter on free HRT HERE.

Since entering government Fianna Fáil has introduced free contraception for all women aged 17-35 and opened six Regional Fertility Hubs, two Specialist Endometriosis Centres and 6 Specialist Menopause Clinics.
