Housing Progress Q3 2023

Housing for All is the biggest housing plan in the history of the state. 22,443 new homes were completed in the first nine months of 2023 and we are on track to exceed this year’s target of 29,000 new homes. This is a 9% increase on the same period last year and the highest 9 month period since records began.

The fastest and most sustainable way to increase housing supply is to reuse existing properties. To combat vacancy and dereliction, Government has extended the Local Authority Home Loan to those looking to buy or renovate a derelict or non-habitable property. The income limits for the grant are €70,000 for single adults and €85,000 for joint applicants.
