LE19 Manifesto

Mary joined Fianna Fáil leader Michéal Martin TD and first time Dublin local election candidates to launch their Local Election 2019 Manifesto.

The 2019 Fianna Fáil Local Election Manifesto prioritizes action on climate change, housing, safer communities and stronger local democracy. You can read the Fianna Fáil Local Election manifesto HERE.

Mary’s priorities if elected to represent Ashtown, Cabra, Drumcondra, Glasnevin, Pelletstown and Phibsborough on Dublin City Council are:

Climate Action:

  • Drive City Council to agree and achieve City Climate Action Plan targets
  • Carbon proof Dublin City Council €900m annual budget
  • Reduce Dublin city carbon footprint through building retrofit programme and environmentally friendly transport

Housing & Homeless:

  • Introduction of Vienna Housing model and co-operative housing
  • Re-introduction of affordable housing
  • State owned lands zoned for housing used for public housing
  • End dereliction

Safer Communities:

  • Increased community Garda foot patrols
  • Reestablish accountable local community policing fora

Public spaces and streets for all:

  • Better street cleaning, lighting, tree pruning and footpath repair accessible to all

Education for all:

  • Equal access to education regardless of age, sex, religion or ability
  • Co-educational, non-denominational education choice
  • Guaranteed school place for ever child especially those with special needs

Public Transport for all:

  • Efficient, reliable and affordable public transport connecting communities
  • Protection of inner urban villages, green space, trees and residential communities
  • Free environmentally friendly public bus service
