Markets MUGA

Mary was delighted to represent the Lord Mayor at the official opening of the Markets Multi Use Games Area (or MUGA) in this ancient part of our capital city.

Community Leaders from Saint Michans House, Kevin Barry House, Henrietta House, Ormond Square, Constitution Hill & Chancery House as well as members of the Markets Muga Committee, all deserve enourmous credit for this achievement.

The new facility will be used extensively by the local schools including Georges Hill School, St Pauls Brunswick, St Vincent’s College, Henrietta Street & D7 Educate Together.

Other parts of the community which will benefit include the the Probation Services, Work Options, Saint Michaels, Most Project Youth Service, Sari, c/o New Communities, Just Ask Services, Saint Brendan’s GAA, Simon Community, Bohemians Academy, Saint Michan’s Over 35’s, the Women’s local Team.

Contact Tommy Wilson Dublin City Council, at 01 222-7310, 182-184 Parnell St Dublin 7 if you wish to book a slot.

It was a special honour to have local man and great sporting hero Johnnny Giles attend. Johnny grew-up here and started his footballing career which brought him to the very hightest of soccer glory – hopefully local youths who will use the MUGA might follow in his footseps.
