Moore Street, Expert Group

Moore Street suffers from years of neglect and requires ambitious and radical interventions to revive it as a vibrant trading street.

What was once a vibrant street market with more than ninety street traders has been reduced to less than twenty street traders today.

Mary challenged the states failure to protect and develop the national monument and secured unanimous support at Dublin City Council for her call for urgent Government action.

On March 2, 2020 Mary chaired the first meeting of the Expert Group,  established by Dublin City Council,  to define the future of street trading on Moore Street.

The Expert Group, chaired by Mary, is tasked with engaging all stakeholders, articulating a vision for and identifying actions required to ensure successful street trading on Moore Street into the future.

The Expert Group intends producing a first report by  May 2020.

Further updates to follow.
