No Child 2020

Mary is a signatory to the No Child 2020 pledge.

1 in 10 children in Ireland is growing up in consistent poverty in Ireland.

Mary does not accept that Child poverty is inevitable. Mary knows measures can be taken at a local level to end child poverty and help families who are struggling. If elected Mary commits to the following:

1. Increase the delivery of public housing so that every child can grow up in a secure and affordable home.

2. Allocate dedicated arts funding which benefits children and young people
to participate in arts and culture activities in their community with their friends.

3. Prevent fast food outlets building or advertising near schools to create healthy, family-friendly communities.
