Phibsborough redevelopment

As a City Councillor 2004-2014 Mary worked to achieve regeneration of Phibsborough through the establishment of a statutory Local Area Plan.   Mary supports the redevelopment of the Phibsborough Shopping Centre and wants any new development to regenerate the neglected urban village into a vibrant urban community.

On October 26th, 2017 Dublin City Council informed Mary that they granted planning permission for the redevelopment of the Phibsborough Shopping Center.  Mary subsequently made a submission to  An Bord Pleanala calling for three key elements absent in the permission granted by Dublin City Council to be corrected: Community gain, affordable residential housing and adequate refurbishment or replacement of the tower block.
