On June 28th 2020 An Taoiseach, Micheál Martin nominated Mary Fitzpatrick to the 26th Seanad Eireann.

On 29th June Mary took her place in the 26th Seanad, meeting in the Convention Center, and committed to champion the ambitious Programme for Government and make the Seanad deliver for Dublin Central.
