Dublin City Council have advised Mary that DCC Dangerous Buildings section have closed the laneway linking St Mobhi Boithrin and Church Avenue.
The decision was made as a safety precaution because there are structural issue with the Church wall adjoining the lane.
The wall is the responsibility of the Church and Dublin City Council will work with the Church community to remedy the situation.
In the interest of public health and safety the lane will remain closed to the public until agreed remedial works are carried out.
