At a time when cultural space is under pressure in Dublin City Mary is a strong supporter of self-starting independent resilient artists initiatives like The Complex. Since 2009 the complex has created and sustained a home for artists in Dublin’s north inner city. Mary was delighted to go along to the opening of their latest exhibition Display, Link and Cure which runs until September 26th 2019.
Japan
I was proud to represent the Oireachtas Committee for Enterprise, Tourism and employment on our recent delegation to Japan. For almost 70 years Ireland has enjoyed strong diplomatic relations with Japan. Ireland opened it’s first embassy in Tokyo in 1974 In 2025 Ireland renewed and strengthened its presence in Japan
