Weekly Update 30/11/2021

I am regaining my energies and recovering after Covid. I would encourage everyone to take the Booster when offered, reduce contacts & use anti-gen tests if asymptomatic and socialising.

In the Seanad I asked the Minister for Third Level Education for an update on what action he is taking to make third level education more accessible and affordable for all.

The Large Scale Residential Developments Bill will create new time bound local democratic planning process for large scale residential developments and ends Strategic Housing Development planning.

Residential Tenancies Bill will cap rents at the lesser of 2% or inflation, introduce unlimited leases and amend judicial review process.

At the weekly meeting of the Fianna Fail PP requested Transport Minister meet with Dublin PP members

Offered my sympathies to the people who tragically lost their lives crossing the English Channel. Called on Minister for Foreign Affairs & EU to guarantee safe routes.

Called for Seanad Debate with Minister for Justice on eliminating violence against women #16days #organgetheworld

Called on the morally bankrupt opposition politicians to stop objecting to €20 Billion State-led housing programme # housingforall

Met with and supported Thalidomide Survivors at Leinster House on their 60th anniversary

Great discussion hosted by WorkEqual on reimagining Childcare in Ireland with Minister Roderic O’Gorman

Met with DCC to progress regeneration of fruit and veg market.

Fantastic proposal for St Mary’s Place, Dorset Street for 164 A-rated, social homes, green spaces and crèche will provide quality inner-city homes and end years of dereliction and neglect. #HousingForAll
