Dr. Dermot Fitzpatrick

My Dad sadly passed away on March 23rd 2022. Sincere thanks to everyone who was in touch to offer sympathy to my family & I.

He loved his community and was happiest working as a public servant, firstly as a Dentist, then a G.P. on the Navan Road and as a public representative.

It was his kind nature and desire to help people that led him into politics.

He was first elected to Dublin City Council, then went on to be elected as a TD for the Dublin Central constituency from 1987 to 1992 and 2002 to 2007. In addition, he served as Senator from 1997 to 2002.

Apart from all his achievements he was first and foremost a family man. He and my mother, Mary, were married 56 years and worked together as a team helping the people in their community.

He is missed terribly by his family, friends and old colleagues.
