Botanic SHD

In June 2019 following strong observations from Mary and others An Bord Pleanala refused planning permission for 299 apartments on the Smurfit site on Botanic Road.  On Friday 26th July, a new site notice was displayed on the Smurfit Site, see attached photo of site notice.

The notice states Scanron Limited intends applying to Dublin City Council for planning permission to alter the permitted development along the Iona Park boundary, replacing the permitted 5 bed terraced house types with apartments (4 one bed and 24 two bed).

The planning application has not yet been lodged with Dublin City Council but the site notice states that there will be no change in the ridge height already permitted, although they plan to dig down 340mm in order to accommodate a taller building, which will be 3 storeys.

On Tuesday 30th July 2019 Dublin City Council advised Mary that no application has yet been lodged.  Applicants have up to fourteen calendar days from the date the site notice is displayed to lodge their application with DCC.  Once DCC receives a valid application it will be available to inspect on www.dublincity.ie or at the planning office at Dublin City Council, Woodquay, Dublin 8.

Mary has requested an information meeting for interested residents with DCC Planning officials so that residents can review the application and have their queries answered.
