BusConnects, 2nd Consultation

Mary strongly supports the provision of more efficient, reliable and affordable public bus transport in Dublin City.

BusConnects is the National Transport Authorities plan to transform public bus services and cycling in Dublin City. For an overview of the BusConnects project click HERE.

Mary welcomes the 2nd round of public consultation on the proposed BusConnects Bus Corridors and is pleased the revised plans include provision of park and ride, 500 additional environmentally friendly hybrid buses and introduction of single decker electric buses.

One of the key issues raised during the 1st round of consultations was the potential impact and removal of mature trees. BusConnects has made significant design revisions to minimise the impact on mature trees while still achieving the required bus and cycling priority for the city to address congestion and reduce pollution. Click HERE to read more on this subject, including the attached extracts with regard to trees on St Mobhi Road & Finglas Road.

Mary believes that as well as increasing efficiency and capacity the final plans must make bus services more affordable and free for all.

Mary encourages everyone living and working in the city to review the proposals, attend the public information events listed in the table below and have their say on the plans.

The deadline for submissions is Friday 17th April 2020. Mary will make a written submission to the revised plans and publish it here.
