Criminal Justice Covid19 Bill 2020

Mary supports the introduction of the Criminal Justice Covid19 Bill 2020 which aims to enforce Covid19 regulations for bars, restaurants and clubs as follows;

  • Makes non-compliance with Covid19 Regulations a criminal offence for anyone operating a bar, restaurant or club
  • Gives Gardaí powers to immediately close premises which are non-complaint with Covid19 regulations for periods of one to thirty days
  • Defines the appeal process for bar, restaurant, club operators
  • Defines the grounds for objections to renewal of liquor licences and registration. 

Mary welcomes these regulations, and urges all members of the Oireachtas to support them. If passed Mary calls on the Government to re-open wet pubs.
