Mary welcomes the announcement from Dublin City Council that they have been given the go ahead to proceed to the design and planning stages of the Dalymount Park Redevelopment.
A grant agreement has now been signed with the Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media (DTCAGSM) in relation to the Dalymount Park Redevelopment Project. The allocation of €918,750 from the Large Scale Sports Infrastructure Fund (LSSIF) will part fund the design and planning elements of the project.
The redevelopment of the stadium is critically important for soccer but also for sustainable regeneration of Phibsborough, one of the capital’s prime urban villages.
It has taken six years to get to this point, Mary hopes DCC will accelerate the process, Soccer, Phibsborough and the Capital city needs DCC to adopt greater urgency and develop this state-of-the-art facility.
