Fianna Fáil Minister for Health, Stephen Donnelly, is working on new plans that will see free HRT products available for all women who need them.
Under these plans Government would fund the cost of HRT medication being available to those who need it. This is great news for hundreds of thousands of women across Ireland. Up to now HRT has only been provided by the State for those who have a medical card.
A standard prescription typically costs between €30 and €70 a month with many women stopping treatment because they can’t afford the cost.

Since entering government Fianna Fáil has introduced free contraception for all women aged 17-35 and opened six Regional Fertility Hubs, two Specialist Endometriosis Centres and 6 Specialist Menopause Clinics.
