Gaelscoil Colaiste Mhuire

Mary welcomes the news that the new school building for Gaelscoil Colaiste Mhuire will proceed to the next stage. This is following a meeting in early December with Minister Foley, School Principal and Chair, Dept of Education officials, other public representatives and Mary, the following was agreed :

•        the design team can complete the stage 2(b) (should be a matter of weeks rather than months) for submission to the Department.

•        The DT are authorised to pre-qualify the shortlist of contracts in parallel with Depts review of the Stage 2(b) submission.

•        Both should be completed by end Quarter 1 of 2021 and the project then authorised to tender.

•        Assuming no issues arise, it is expected to be ready to start on site in Quarter 3 of 2021.

It has been a very long wait to get to this stage, butthe above represents positive steps toward a new school building for GCM.
