On the 3rd anniversary of the historical referendum which repealed the 8th Amendment of our Constitution, Mary called on the Minister for Health to provide details of the review of the Health Regulation Termination of Pregnancy Act 2018 and to outline how and when the review will be undertaken.
Mary called for an Independent Expert Chairperson to be appointed, and she urged the Minster to engage all stakeholders – women, mothers, those involved in abortion care in Ireland and also seek feedback from those providing abortion care in the UK- to ensure evidenced based recommendations from the review.
