Day 7

Attended general election husting is St Lawrence O’Tooles School Seville Place – the boys were very attentive and their questions displayed a real understanding of issues effecting their lives and the election (more than I had at their age :-). Then back on the road canvassing.  Meanwhile I hear Micheal Martin did well last night…

Day 9

After the weekend delivering my MANIFESTO, participated in an election debate to increase voter awareness in the North Inner City. A very well organised event arranged by the Adult Learning Centre in Mountjoy Square. Then off to Gaelscoil Bharra to get some great news. Click HERE for more. Meantime, the national polls and media write-offs remain depressing, but…

Day 12

From the East Wall to Fassaugh, Whitworth to Oxmanstown plenty of shoe leather worn out over the weekend. By my math we each walked 20 miles on Saturday alone !! Thanks to all the volunteers who continue to give up their time to help me out. Every day, every canvass, every poll, every analyst says the…

Day 15

Out an about in the North Inner City. Happy with the reaction I am getting. People are struggling but appreciate where I’m coming from. Good to see Michael Martin’s proposal that that TD’s elected to the 31st Dáil will be required to waive their ministerial severance payments. Click HERE for more. All the best, Mary.

Day 17

Meeting of Board of GRANGEGORMAN DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY. We finalised the Strategic Plan which clears the way to get the Development Zone process kicked-off.  Canvassed the Navan Road later. Home to see the Leaders debate which went well for Michael Martin I reckon.

Day 18

Attended the launch of Fianna Fail’s manifesto, REAL PLAN, BETTER FUTURE. Its a plan well worth supporting. Hugh Lane Gallery was a good venue for the launch (and not just because it’s in Dublin Central :-) After that back canvassing in Drumcondra and Cabra followed by RTE Drive Time debate in Smithfield with my fellow…

Day 19

Busy weekend. After a wind and rain swept Saturday canvassing The Markets, Glasnevin, Cabra and Navan Road I made my way to the City Sheriff to register as a candidate. I was the 17th candidate to register in the city and the first FF candidate. Surprised at the number of constituents who saw the piece in THE IRISH…

Day 21

Canvassing today in Cabra & the Navan Road. Great support from my team. Despite gale force winds people were willing to stop and talk at the shops and open their doors when we knocked.

Day 21

Party leader Micheál Martin and deputy leader Mary Hanafin this morning outlined today’s key message: We’ll lower the EU-IMF interest rate through consensus, not conflict. Watch highlights from the conference HERE. In it, Micheál says: 1. Ireland’s budget problems are separate from last year’s funding deal. We still need a multi-annual plan to bring the deficit…
