BusConnects, Blanchardstown

Mary supports improved provision of frequent, affordable and reliable public bus services.

For the proposed high frequency bus corridors to benefit all the NTA must address legitimate concerns over potential negative impacts on residents homes and our local villages of Stoneybatter, Cabra and Phibsborough.

Mary is actively engaging in the public consultation on the proposed Blanchardstown ot City Centre Core Bus Corridor.

Mary is working with residents and businesses in the area and attended the Community Form organised by the NTA in the Ashling Hotel.

The presentation given by the NTA is available HERE and the minutes of the meeting are available HERE.

Following are some of the implications of the proposal:

  • Reduce journey time by 30-40minutes
  • Impact approximately 100 properties
  • Remove approximately 87 on street parking spaces
  • Remove 200 trees, with a promise to replace them
  • Miscellaneous road traffic restrictions and changes including:
  • Restricting private vehicles on Old Cabra Road to “access only”
  • Diverting traffic from Old Cabra Road to surrounding roads e.g. Blackhorse Avenue, Cabra Road, Rathoath Road and other surrounding roads
  • Private vehicles will not be allowed enter Prussia Street from Manor Street
  • Aughrim street to remain two way and be designated main arterial route to city

There are many other elements to the proposal and full details of the Blachardstown to City Center Bus Corridor are available HERE or call into Mary’s office at 90 Dowth Avenue, Monday – Friday 09.30-13.00.

Mary is happy to assist anyone wishing to make a submission or requiring advice.
