COVID-19, Symptoms

The HSE has advised  that anyone with COVID-19 symptoms should phone their GP who will, if determined necessary, arrange for a test and advise on appropriate measures while waiting for the test results. 

Symptoms of coronavirus

It can take up to 14 days for symptoms of coronavirus to appear. Look out for one, some or all of the main symptoms:

Other symptoms are fatigue, headaches, sore throat, aches and pains.

Please do not ring GP out of hours services as they cannot arrange testing.

Test centers will operate but by appointment only.  Patients are asked not to go to test centres unless they have an appointment.

The national ambulance service will also continue to do house calls however people should not ring 999/112 if they feel they need a TEST for COVID-19. These lines should be kept free for their important emergency work.

People should not contact their doctor for a test if they do not have symptoms as GPs need to keep phone lines clear for people with symptoms.
