Clontarf to City Centre Cycle Route

Dublin City Council proposes to develop a dedicated 2.5 KM cycle route from Clontarf (Clontarf Road/Alfie Byrne Road) to Amiens Street/Talbot via Marino Mart, Fairview, Annesley Bridge Road and the North Strand Road.

The development will include improvements to footpaths and landscaping along the route, as well as the upgrading of pedestrian crossings to Toucan (bicycle friendly crossings) crossings and the introduction of new Toucan Crossings, including on the North Strand Road at Charleville Mall.

The construction of the cycle route will include the removal or relocation of some parking spaces as well as the alteration of the retaining wall on the east side of the North Strand Road and the alteration of the wall at Iarnrod Eireann Head Office on Amiens Street.

Plans can be inspected at Dublin City Council Civic Offices, Wood Quay, Dublin 8 between 9am and 4.30 pm until Thurs 23 February. Plans can also be inspected at the Central Area Office, 51-53 Lower Sean MacDermott Street, Dublin 1 between 10am and 3.30pm or at Charleville Mall Library, Charleville Mall, North Strand, Dublin 1 between 10am and 1pm and 2pm and 5pm.

Submissions are welcome until Thurs 9 March by writing to Executive Manager, Planning and Property Development Department, Dublin City Council, Block 4, Floor 3, Civic Offices, Wood Quay, Dublin 8.
