Dublin Monaghan Bombings

On Friday 17th May 1974 Mary was five years old. At 5.30pm with her mam and siblings Mary was walking from Henry Street to get a bus home when without warning three car bombs exploded a few hundred meters away on Talbot Street and Parnell Street killing 34 people.

Forty five years on and not one individual has been prosecuted for what was the greatest loss of life in a single day during the “Troubles”. The families and relatives of those murdered continue to seek the truth.

On May 17th 2019 Mary deputised for Fianna Fáil leader Michéal Martin TD representing Fianna Fáil and lending Fianna Fáil’s support for the families campaign at their annual commemoration on Talbot Street.

Justice delayed is justice denied. The British Government should immediately release all files relating to the Dublin Monaghan bombings to an independent international judge.
