The first stage in a Strategic Housing Development application for 137 Build to Rent apartments on the old Matts of Cabra site was made to An Bord Pleanála on 11th August 2021.
This is good news that the Developer is in talks with Dublin City Council and An Bord Pleanala about progressing the building of homes here, however it is disappointing that they are proposing a Built to Rent Development.
These type of developments do not typically provide homes for long term living or home ownership.
The site must be developed as it has been left vacant & derelict for far too long.
If it is not developed a vacant site tax must be applied.
