Waste Charges

During Covid-19 restrictions, most people are spending more time at home and many residential homes are generating more domestic waste and at the same time struggling with reduced income.

At the May 2020 meeting of the Central Area Committee, Mary asked that DCC would request private domestic waste collection companies operating in Dublin City to suspend charges for extra weight during Covid-19 restrictions and thus facilitate responsible and affordable disposal of domestic waste in the City.

It was agreed at the meeting that Dublin City Council would write to all domestic waste collection companies operating household kerbside collections in the Dublin City administrative area asking that they consider and respond to the request set out by the councillor.

Mary will provide updates over the coming weeks.
